Hartmut Noack appears on Day program

Hartmund NoackBorn 1967 Hartmut Noack makes music and has experimented with recording-technology since the late 1980?s. In the 1990?s with analogue equipment and since 1998 with computers.

In 2003 Noack did not switch from MSWindows98 to XP, but instead chose to move to GNU/Linux instead. Since that he works with productive audio-software in Linux on a daily basis, writes bug-reports, articles for magazines and hundreds of help-texts for international websites. He presented the results of his works to users and developers at several conferences, talks and workshops.

Since 2007 he has been running the Linux Audio Proof Of Concept – a project to find out, what is really possible with free audio software. As LAPOC he records tracks with musicians in a diversity of musical styles using a software-environment excluselivly built with free licenced software under Linux and deliberately minimized hardware-equipment. The project offers tracks and sample-collections on its website under http://lapoc.de. The material is licenced under Creative Commons and GNU-compatible.
