How to earn money with cc music? PRIMA.fm calls for entries

PRIMA.fm is a new platform for the use of free music for commercial purposes.

To kick things off, PRIMA.fm invites all musicians, bands and labels to partake in this project. In addition, PRIMA looks forward to your feedback to improve their platform constantly - for an effective distribution of your music!

Any kind of music that was not created by members of any collecting-society (such as GEMA, GVL, ASCAP, PPL, SUISA etc.) worldwide, can become part of the musical portfolio. Supporting PRIMA.fm offers a number of considerable advantages:

+ a flat share of 40% of all licensing-money coming in goes directly to the artists and labels ? we have no sympathy for intransparent or disproportionate allocation-keys.

+ Supporting PRIMA.fm is fully compatible with the use of Creative Commons licenses. You only transfer the non-exclusive music-rights for the use for commercial purposes to PRIMA.fm. Therefore, you can still license your music to third parties or give it away for free for non-commercial purposes (i.e. CC BY/NC/ND).

+ Besides an opportunity to earn money with music, PRIMA.fm also offers musicians and labels a chance to promote and spread their music throughout the world within non-web contexts.

The Call for entries for the 2009 Netaudio Festival is now closed. We are truly thankful for the enthusiasm, which was made apparent through the language and form of so so many entries – we really never expected such an incredible participation. During the next weeks we will sight the proposals and try to figure out a diverse and interesting program schedule. We know we can only take a small part of all proposals into the programme – and the hardest part will come with sorting out some highly interesting projects as well. We are pretty sure though that we will be able to arrange a fine selection of the recent netaudio projects, that we can bring together an exciting mixture of East- and West-European activists, that we will have interesting lectures, discussions and workshops – and shake the night’s ass with the best tunes available through the fast growing netlabel landscape and other forms of digital distribution. We will release the first set of infos soon. Stay tuned!

Call For Entries: Netaudio Berlin 2009

Dear musician, netlabelhead, netaudio enthusiast, creative mastermind, visual aesthete and free thinker?

From the 8th to the 11th of October 2009, we are again gathering the international netaudio community for a 4 day festival and conference in Berlin. The event will take place at Maria, a venue which is situated immediately on the former Berlin Death Strip ? which once divided the city and the world into eastern and western hemispheres. These days have long past ? but the 20th anniversary of the tear-down of the wall recalls pictures of helping hands reaching out to pull people from both sides up on the wall. We saw dancing people on top of the then useless scarf of concrete ? and felt the beginning of a new historic chapter, visualized by the reunification of the two German states. In 2009 we will pick up the spirit of those days and invite many hands and minds from all over Europe ? and beyond ? to find out more about the needs and possibilities, challenges and chances of netaudio under the various cultural frameworks in East- and West-European countries.

As a first step you are kindly requested to fill in the Call for Entries-Form. You will be asked to give specific information about yourself, your project and your proposal. If you?re heading for involvement within the musical program we ask you to upload demo-sets (no netlabel releases!) to our soundcloud-dropbox. If you don?t know how to handle Soundcloud ? don?t worry ? it?s very simple! The sets must not be older than six months. Also we ask you for your possibilities to save some money by using personal connections (transport, accommodation etc.). It might also be helpful for a decision.

The call for entries ends at Sunday 31st of May 2009. We than take down the form and finalize the program with the help of your inputs. We will get in contact with you latest by the end of June. We are looking forward to a strong number of queries and hope we can invite you as a participant of Netaudio Festival Berlin 2009! See you all there!
