Ismail Genc was born near Stuttgart/Germany in 1982.  After finishing the 5th grade in Germany, he moved with his family to Istanbul/Turkey in 94.  He started to make music with his friend at the end of high school.  His main focus is on ambient/experimental music, minimal & dub techno.  After finishing high school he met many people that followed on to musical collaborations, which helped him to further develop his sound.

The collaboration between Ismail Genc, Okan Coban and Ali Gültekin ended up as the group Sublime Porte and the first netlabel in turkey : www.sublimeporte.net

Ismail produces and performs under his moniker Havantepe and together with Dubatech (Fatih Tüter) they are : Reflected Sound
