Antina Michels

Antina Michels studied European Ethnology, Cultural Studies and German as a foreign language at the Humboldt and Technical Universities in Berlin. She completed a term abroad at the ISHSS of the Universiteit van Amsterdam and also at the Universidade de Brasília. Her areas of interest are music scenes and festivals, online communities, social networking, summer carnivals, intercultural knowledge transfer and health care.

In the context of a study project “carnival of the cultures” at the department for European Ethnology she investigated the Berlin Reggae scene. She developed her enthusiasm for the Netaudio topic since 2005 in the context of her master’s degree. She published this ethnography as a book: “Netlabels –Soziale Netze On- & Offline”. She was also a part of the organization team for the Berlin Netaudio festivals in 2007 and 2009.
